A teacher from Bole has broken his silence and appealed to Ghanaians to plead with the government to show him mercy following the controversy surrounding his actions.

Speaking in tears, the teacher admitted his mistake and begged Ghanaians to support him by appealing to the authorities on his behalf.

“I beg Ghanaians to help me plead with the government. Even if they decide to repost me to any village to teach there, I will accept it,” he said.

The teacher further explained that he already had a relationship with the student involved and expressed his desire to perform a traditional marriage ceremony.

“Right now, I want to marry the school girl because she is my girlfriend. I want to perform the traditional wedding. It is not that I didn’t know her; we were already dating,” he stated.

He also pleaded that losing his job would leave him uncertain about his future.

“If they take my job from me, what else will I do, and where will I get something to eat?” he asked.

The teacher believes the views of Ghanaians could influence the government’s decision, which is why he is calling on the public to speak on his behalf and appeal for leniency.
